The company was created in 1937 by McMurdo Silver, in England, as a maker of valves for radios. When it grew its activities, McMurdo moved in 1953 to the historical port town of Portsmouth, on Southern England, where it is established until today. The principal McMurdo products represented by Radiomar are the advanced device systems EPIRB and SART.
